Pace Finance return to The British GT Championship with Gough and Wrigley

After an outstanding rookie season, the Pace Motorsport Finance backed duo, Tom Wrigley and Ian Gough for a fresh attack on the 2024 British GT championship. But this time, the pairing will be in the impressive BMWM4 GT4 under the banner of Tom Wrigley Performance and Century Motorsport.

The pair scored two overall GT4 wins in 2023, en route to third in the standings and runner-up spot in GT4 Pro-Am, making them among the championship favourites for the season ahead.

Wrigley commented:

“After narrowly missing out on the overall British GT and Pro-Am championship title in 2023, Ian and I are delighted to be returning to the British GT Championship. Whilst Century will be a new environment, the BMW M4 G82 is a platform I have spent a lot of time with through my business Tom Wrigley Performance; we developed the fastest road going M4 in Europe, possibly the world.  Racing with Nathan and Century is a going to be a great combination of all our BMW MSport experience.

We’re feeling really prepared to take our fight to the front more consistently with a car and environment we know incredibly well.”

As was the case last term, The Pace Motorsport Finance backed car will feature prominent branding from The Lions Barber Collective. Shining a light on the men’s mental health awareness charity, they will once again be in the paddock providing free haircuts and race sim activation, as well as delivering their vital life saving message.

Gough continued:

“We’re so excited to be back in 2024, representing The Lions Barber Collective and our campaign ‘The Race to Save Lives’, racing to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention. In 2023 we came so close to winning both GT4 titles and that is our goal, to win the GT4 overall honors in a team I already feel at home with - I used to race with Nathan and Century twenty years ago in the British Kart championship and we’ve always stayed in touch. Century is without doubt the best team on the grid plus Tom has so much expertise with the BMW M4, we know we’ll be able to extract the most from each other every time we hit the track.”

Team Principal Nathan Freke commented:

“It’s great to have Tom and Ian joining us in the BMW GT4. They were a stand out pairing last year and for sure will be contenders for this year. Given the history Ian and the team have, it’s great to be reunited to work together after some 20 years.

Whilst I’ve never worked with Tom, we’ve raced against him for several seasons and know what a fierce competitor he is, I can’t wait to see them out in a Century car and see what we can achieve together!
